Update Samsung Europa - Tesco Mobile

When it came to updating my phone using the Samsung Kies software there was a bit of a problem. The update failed and on trying to restore my phone back to the original settings this failed as well.

Now I had a phone that was doing nothing at all.

On visiting the Tesco store they gave me some advice but this did not help.

Next I contacted the Tesco Mobile helpline which was brilliant and I was back working again with the phone updated within half an hour. Superb service.
The phone is now working great and he repeating texts I was getting from O2 users have disappeared.

Lost dog

While out walking my two labradors we were joined by a very friendly puppy. After a few moments I realised there was nobody with the dog. Usually when a dog goes astray there is someone shouting its name but nothing was heard. The pup got on really well with my dogs so we carried on to the car but still no sign of the owner. There was a tag on the collar of the lost dog with a mobile phone number, my mobile was at home on charge, so thought at least we could all go home in the car and phone from home. After a while walking up and down the road and speaking to another dog walker who had not come across anyone else while out we set off for home. The lost pup was easy to get in the car and got on ok with my dogs even when we got home to a drink of water and some biscuits. The owner was relieved to get the phone call and came and collected the pup. What an exciting morning.

Flatbed Scanning Negatives

Scanning negatives and slides on a flatbed scanner can be quite challenging. The cost of a dedicated scanner is way out my league so I was interested in reading this article on making a device for providing the light from above the strip of film. Recently spent a while researching current mobile phones to replace my outdated bar type phone. The criteria was     To have a method of posting to Twitter and Facebook     Camera, not necessary high spec     Email     Web browsing     GPS     Android system     Last but certainly not least the ability to make     phone calls and texts At the end of the search there was the Samsung Europa. Next thing was to find a network provider and went for Tesco Mobile, intending to use the Triple Credit PAYG. While buying the phone there was an offer of 500 mins, unlimited text and web for £10 per month on a rolling one month contract - so went for that.  Since getting the phone I have discovered a bug which repeats received text messages.
